Fullerton Waterboat House

We proceeded over to the Fullerton Waterboat House after taking in the picturesque scenery that the Merlion Park had to offer. It was a slightly uphill task to locate this attraction, for it was concealed behind construction works and some pop-up food outlets. When we finally located the building, we were impressed with the elegant curved facade of the Fullerton Waterboat House. It was very well-maintained and retained its original grey plaster furnishing and balconies.

In the past, the Fullerton Waterboat House was a historic water supply house. It was used by the former Port of Singapore Authority to supply fresh drinkable water to ships that arrived in Singapore. Constructed in 1941 by Swan & Maclaren, it remained in use until the 1990s. Today, it houses classy restaurants, bars and a Starbucks outlet that offers magnificent views of the bayfront. We took a few group photos with the Fullerton Waterboat House, and included within is the modern Starbucks logo on the balloon and the wall. This provided a nice contrast between the old and the new.
